Planlux participated in developing the lighting scheme for the new Technogym Sport Center at Park Hyatt Macka Palas Hotel in Nisantasi, Istanbul, with architectural design by Technogym and GA Architects.
At Park Hyatt Istanbul-Maçka Palas Hotel, the never-before-seen luxury sports facility Wowww Gym offers guests and tourists an unforgettable experience. In creating this experience, we also took great pleasure in designing the lighting concept, emphasizing the already magnificent interior architecture with light. Our aim was to ensure that throughout the entire space, the same quality of lighting is felt, reflecting the richness depicted in the rest of the structure.

In this project we were commissioned to develop the lighting of the main hall, cardio, free weight area, functional area and reception areas for visitors, as well as design the private room. Our priority was to integrate lighting with the surrounding spaces, a recurring technique used throughout the project.
A large part of this project involved stylizing and recreating the water reflections on the Bosphorus. Linear profile fixtures integrated into the wall covering and placed vertically create the general light character of the space and create reflections on the ceiling, referencing the Bosphorus. Meanwhile, downlight fixtures located on the same line on the ceiling and integrated with the mechanics provide general illumination.
We worked closely on the placement and design of these metal modules to ensure maximum integration with our lighting design. This enabled us to optimize light distribution in the space and enhance the aesthetic appeal brought by the architectural concept. At the same time, we closely experienced the application process by following all the installation details in close collaboration with the construction site team and the luminaire manufacturer in order to preserve the feeling of warmth and comfort. It was very pleasure to experience and have the opportunity to use light for the development of the gym project in Maçka Palas, one of the historical buildings of Istanbul.
