For the THY Taksim Sales Office project, we developed a holistic lighting design that reflects the brand’s corporate identity while prioritizing user experience and visual comfort. In this project, we approached light not merely as a functional requirement but as a design tool that enhances spatial perception and supports the brand’s stance.
We considered the sales office as a multi-layered space intensively used by both customers and employees throughout the day. Accordingly, the lighting design was structured to support this layered spatial organization, bringing together different functions such as workspaces, meeting areas, and foyer zones within a comfortable working environment. Distinct lighting scenarios were created for entrance, reception, and customer-facing areas, as well as for work and service zones.
For general lighting, we aimed to achieve a uniform light level throughout the space to support visual comfort. In work areas, we preferred controlled light distributions that reduce visual fatigue during long periods of use, while in customer areas we aimed to create a calmer and more welcoming atmosphere.
Light was also used as a guiding element in the space, facilitating intuitive movement between different areas. Potential reflections on glass surfaces and screen areas were carefully controlled through luminaire positioning and lighting angles.
As the space does not receive daylight, the lighting design was evaluated with particular attention to the comfort of office employees working long hours.
Overall, the lighting design for this project aims to create a cohesive atmosphere that conveys Turkish Airlines’ professional and international brand identity while enhancing the user experience.bala
