Sevan Bıçakçı, one of the leading jewelry artisans in Turkey and internationally, has opened a new store in Istanbul featuring some of his most iconic designs. The store is located in Galataport Karaköy, one of Turkey’s most important port destinations, with Galataport as the client.
Galataport Cruise Terminal functions as an international commercial hub where cruise passengers arriving in Istanbul can shop. With a customer profile made up mostly of international visitors, this store covers approximately 80 square meters. Although compact in size, it houses highly important and valuable collections due to its prominent location.

The interior architecture was designed by Fabbrica Design. The store follows a simple yet inviting design approach that does not compete with the precious collections on display. At the same time, through its details and material choices, the space becomes elegant, striking, and memorable.
From the street, the jewelry details displayed in the custom-designed cylindrical showcase units stand out against a layered curtain backdrop on the storefront. At the center of the interior, the sculptural elliptical volume called the “sanctum” creates the impression of a sacred core, inviting visitors to explore the space.
The interior circulation is organized around this central elliptical “sanctum” element. The furniture details were specially developed in line with the micro-scale 48V luminaires designed to highlight the jewelry in both the sanctum and the recessed wall display units along the side façades.
In line with the overall design concept, the lighting approach aimed for refined detailing and low contrast ratios throughout the store. Special attention was given to wall-washing on all vertical surfaces, creating a shadow-free brightness balance that supports the calm and restful atmosphere of the space.
All selected lighting products feature high CRI values, and their optical characteristics were customized according to the project’s needs. A control system allows lighting levels to be adjusted as required, while task lighting, showcases, and vertical surfaces can be controlled separately. This also makes it possible to create different lighting scenarios for different times of day.
