Renaissance Polat Istanbul Hotel

Located in one of Yeşilyurt’s most prominent locations, the Renaissance Polat Hotel is set to welcome visitors in 2024 with a renewed face following a comprehensive renovation. This transformation stands out with its architectural details and lighting design, which define the spirit of the space.

The project, with architectural design developed by Autoban, distinguishes itself with characteristic details unique to each space. In addition to the architectural features, the choice of decorative fixtures also plays a crucial role in shaping the overall ambiance of the hotel.

As part of the project, numerous areas of the hotel, such as the ballroom, meeting rooms, foyer spaces, circulation areas, restaurant sections, and the PDR (private dining room) areas, have been reimagined. Each space, with its meticulously designed details, has been transformed into a visually impressive and functional structure.

The ballroom’s two-layer ceiling design presented one of the most striking challenges in the lighting design. The ceiling height, which starts at 240 cm around the perimeter and rises to 6 meters at the center, required lighting details to be planned in a way that would enhance the character of the space.

The delicate details of spotlights and indirect lighting from the walls to the ceiling enhance the material details and perspective of the space while also supporting alternative scenarios needed for conferences and events.

The square illuminated details on the ceiling were specially designed to give the space a three-dimensional depth. The linear light sources embedded within these square details ensure a balanced distribution of light across the ceiling. This design, which creates a visual illusion within the space, establishes an atmosphere that captivates visitors.

In meeting rooms and foyer spaces, where ceiling heights are more limited, a similar lighting language is maintained. However, custom-produced 80×80 cm square fixtures were individually placed for these areas. The thinness and custom production details of the fixtures were key. The placements create a balanced level of illumination across the ceiling, while the integration of downlight lines and decorative fixtures into the control system allows for flexible scenarios to meet the diverse needs of users.

In the foyer spaces, bronze-detailed decorative fixtures used in the ceiling added a touch of elegance, complementing the overall design. These decorative lights were coordinated to integrate seamlessly with both mechanical and lighting systems, ensuring all details worked harmoniously together.

The restaurant areas became one of the highlights of the hotel. Different ceiling heights (230 cm and 280 cm) and the sections formed by these levels were approached with precision in the lighting design. This space, which benefits from strong natural light from one side, offers a bright and airy atmosphere during the day. At the same time, carefully selected material details and the resulting contrasts create a warm and inviting ambiance for guests.

Buffet areas, stone ovens, and grill stations were accentuated with lighting details. With customizable lighting scenarios when needed, the private dining and gathering areas enhance the functionality of the restaurant while improving the guest experience.
