The lighting scheme for the Land of Legends informal store is sophisticated and timeless, in harmony with the contemporary and minimalist interior design. The lighting design not only supports the architectural details, materials, and textures but also provides the necessary functional requirements and lighting levels for the surfaces, enhancing the perception of the space.

The space, with a rectangular plan of 180 square meters, was intended by the interior design team to be a clear, readable, and easily perceivable area from many perspectives, with a simple understanding. The entrance is defined by display units that greet you in the central area, along with display shelves that extend along two wall surfaces, creating our visual entry. Architecturally, tiered ceilings were planned, with lighting details supporting these levels. The indirect lighting around the space and on the vertical surfaces plays a crucial role in balancing natural light, especially with the ceilings and the backdrop of the shelves.
One of the key decisions in the project was to reinforce the background of the wooden shelves while concealing the spotlights used inside the niches. The anticipated spot lighting was carefully coordinated with the architectural team, considering the front details and shelf distances. Thanks to the diligent work of the implementation team, who approached the process with great attention, the outcome was just as planned.
In the central area, the arrangement of hanging displays and showcase units creates two wide corridors. The overall balanced definition of the space, the downlight planning, the distances between the high fronts and the ceiling, and the grouping of lights in a rhythmic pattern proportional to the light distribution on the floor all support the architectural design language and perspective.
Throughout this process we faced a few challenges. Firstly, the relationship between the high ceilings and surfaces with natural light meant that this had to be incorporated into the lighting plan from the beginning. Secondly, because of the overlapping arrangement of the shelf details within the general system, we had to ensure that the products below were sufficiently highlighted. While doing this, it was crucial to plan the furniture details well and evaluate the technical specifications of the different light sources working together.
We worked in line with the goals of retail spaces without compromising visual and functional comfort. We thank everyone who contributed to the project.
