In the heart of Galataport, Istanbul, a historical treasure has been rekindled. Liman Istanbul, under the vigilant guidance of D.ream Group, stands as a testament to meticulous attention to detail and a profound reverence for historical roots. It is more than just a restaurant; it’s a living ode to Istanbul’s rich heritage.

Liman İstanbul, once nestled within the Karaköy Passenger Terminal, is more than a culinary gem; it’s a tribute to the city’s history and architecture. Designed by the eminent architect Dr. Rebii Gorbon in the 1940s, this iconic restaurant has now found its new purpose in Galataport İstanbul. It serves as a testament to the character of the Bosphorus and remains an indispensable establishment in both Karaköy and Istanbul.
One of the notable aspects of Liman İstanbul is its unwavering commitment to preserving historical heritage through design. Retro elements are intricately woven into the overarching design, and at the heart of this concept lies the pivotal role of lighting in encapsulating the spirit of the past.
The dining experience at Liman İstanbul is akin to a journey through time. The interior design, adorned with retro-inspired elements, transports patrons to an era when elegance and grace reign supreme. Here, lighting serves not only as a functional element but as a masterful stroke in recreating a specific ambiance. The warm and inviting glow of retro-style lighting fixtures envelops diners, providing a sense of comfort and nostalgia.
This project was the result of a collaborative effort between Dream Group (Doğuş Hospitality & Retail), Naif Design (the interior architect), Enmar (the electrical engineer), and Planlux. Together, have created a space that respects the past while embracing the present.
The fusion of historical interior design and meticulously crafted lighting enriches the overall dining experience. At Liman İstanbul, patrons not only savor delectable Turkish cuisine with modern touches but also immerse themselves in a unique ambiance that pays homage to Istanbul’s rich history.
Liman İstanbul stands as a testament to the dedication to preserving historical heritage, the artistry of design, and the capacity of lighting to elevate the dining experience.
